Meta appeal refused
Meta sought permission to appeal the Tribunal’s decision to allow Dr Gormsen to amend her claim to seek what are known as “user damages”. Following a hearing on 8-9 July 2026, the Court of Appeal refused every ground of Meta’s appeal. Its judgment can be read here, and the hearing can be viewed here. Meta has now applied to the Court of Appeal for permission to appeal that decision to the Supreme Court, and we are awaiting determination of that application.

Directions to trial set
At a hearing on 20 April 2026, the Tribunal moved back the trial of these proceedings from September 2027 to October 2028. Their Order in relation to the same can be read here.
Disclosure Ruling made
On 24 and 26 November and 16 December 2025, the Tribunal held hearings to address issues related to disclosure; i.e. what documents and data Meta need to provide to the Class Representative. These hearings focused on the resolution of a Redfern Schedule, which sets out the Requests for disclosure Meta need to respond to.
